Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is located at the Marañón River’s bank, and it is the only one lodge inside of the buffer zone of the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve
Location and Access
Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge is located 120 kilometers (74.5 miles) southwest of the city of Iquitos, banks of the Marañón River, short distance from the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve.
All programs includes the pick-up from Iquitos’ airport, transfer from Iquitos to Nauta by bus and riverboat from Nauta to the lodge and vice versa.
Daily flights from Lima to Iquitos -approximately 1h 30′ flight.
Facilities and Rooms
Surrounded by abundant rainforest, Pacaya Samiria Amazon Lodge has been built in accordance with the architecture of the zone and offers comfortable 8 bungalows. Every bungalow has a private terrace with view to the Marañón River, incorporated bathrooms with wall tile, access to the main garden and all areas are protected with mosquito nettings.
It has club-house, dining room, hammock room, bar, watch-towers and hiking paths; hammock room and viewpoints that offer stunning panoramic views of the Marañón River and the surrounding forest.
At the dining room, visitors can enjoy the international and regional cuisine, as well as bar service. Meals consist of soups and appetizers, salads, main course, pasta, dessert, fresh fruits, coffee or tea. Also fresh water for our visitors. If the passenger requires an especial diet, please let us know during your booking.
Rates not included alcoholics and not alcoholics drinks, must be paid with cash in the lodge
Lighting and electricity
Electricity (220 v) is only available at night. Schedule from 6 pm. to 10 pm; each room has a flashlight and a kerosene lamp in the terrace.
The lodge have a direct communication system by short wave radio with the city of Iquitos.
The lodge has five years opened to the visitants who enjoy the eco-tourism activity, the specialized guides in ecotourism have many years of experience working at the Pacaya Samiria National Reserve, most of them are natives of the communities who know very well the forest, that is why we are ready to give you all the facilities to develop the programs and the camping activity mentioned in the longer programs, they bring sleeping bags, small kitchens, portable bathroom, tents, and some other things that will need when we spend the night at the inside of the Reserve.
In every program we include visit to some village to observe the lifestyle and daily activities of the people, such as hunting, gathering, fishing or agriculture, where also we can collaborate with the community development buying typical souvenirs hand made by the natives, made of seeds and a vegetable ivory called tagua.
We recommend bring just one piece of luggage and limit it to 15 kg. And also it is important to mention that the lodge has some medicines to emergencies like to snakes bites could happen.
